A citywide cultural invitation

Folklorama’s flagship festival takes place in Winnipeg each August. The organisation describes a programme of performances, food and experiences presented by ethnocultural communities in Manitoba.

How the festival works

Its current two-week format was adopted in 1988, with different groups of pavilions opening in each week. A pavilion is part of the festival experience, so choosing the correct week matters when planning a visit.

Plan around the programme

Consult Folklorama’s own listings for the current pavilion selection, locations and performance times. Our editorial suggestion is to leave time to explore the cultural displays as well as the stage programme. Check admission and access arrangements with the organiser; this independent journal does not sell tickets or represent the festival.
